「ヨルダンの治安当局は国営テレビを通じて、
ハマスのメンバーがヨルダンの治安を乱す目的で
大量の武器を密輸したとする容疑者の証言を放送しました。
ヨルダンテレビはこの証言は犯罪細胞の一つを示す例にすぎないと強調し、
押収したとされる武器、弾薬、ロケット弾の映像を映しました。
その一部はイランで製造されたものとされています。

パレスチナのハニーヤ首相は、
ヨルダンの政治的宣伝には驚きを禁じ得ないと述べました。
ヨルダンテレビの放送直後、
ハニーヤ首相はハマスの公式声明と同じ内容の声明を行い、
ハマスの対ヨルダン政策に変更はない、
報道されていることは受け入れることができないと述べました。

『パレスチナの住民が国際的な封鎖に苦しんでいるという時に、
兄弟国であるヨルダンがこのような政治的宣伝を強化したことに驚いています。
私達はヨルダンをはじめとする全てのアラブ、イスラム諸国と良好で強固な
関係を築くことこそ、パレスチナとその問題解決の為に最も重要な戦略的選択
であると信じています』

関与したとされるハマスメンバーの自供を放映しました。

ヨルダンのハティーブ外相はワシントンで、この放映に踏み切ったのは、
パレスチナ政府が事件の捜査に協力しなかったからだと述べました。

機関銃や大口径の銃砲弾にロケット弾、大量の武器弾薬が
ヨルダン当局によって公開されました。
ハマスがヨルダンの治安撹乱を目的に国内へ密輸したとしています。
奇妙なことですが、武器はパレスチナ自治区へ密輸されるものではなく、
ハマスがヨルダン国内で事件を起こすことを狙っていたというのです。
ヨルダンテレビはハマスの幹部とされる三人の自供を放映しました。
彼らは警察官や外国人観光客、そしてキリスト教徒などに
危害を加えることを計画していたと述べました。
また武器の一部はイランから入手し、
シリアで訓練が行われていたとも述べました。

およそ十人が連行されたヨルダンのムスリム同胞団の幹部は、
この宣伝で政府発表はますます信頼を失ったと非難しています。

ムスリム同胞団の副指導者アブ・ガクブ氏です。
『ハマスがヨルダンの利益やヨルダン人そのものに危害を加えようとしていた
などという話は、いかなる情況においても信じられる話ではありません。
テレビで自供が放映されたからといって、
それが人々を納得させるものではありません。
逆にこの放送で国の治安問題に関する発表がいかに信頼できないものであるかを
改めて確認したと言えるでしょう』

この事件はまだ始まったばかりで、まだ法廷に持ち込まれていません。
イスラム勢力は、政府の弾圧が厳しくなる兆しではないかと警戒しています」

The broadcast on Thursday also showed a weapons stockpile including hand
grenades and Iranian-made Katushya rockets seized in raids last month.

The apparent leader of the group, named as Ayman Naji Daraghmeh,spoke of
his links to Hamas, his training trips to Syria - where the group's
leadership is based - and also of spying on a Jordanian intelligence
officer who was to be killed.

A second suspect said Daraghmeh had told him of plans to attack a bus
carrying members of the Jordanian intelligence services.

A third said he was involved in a plot to kill a Jordanian Christian and

Nasser Jawdeh,a government spokesman, said on Wednesday that the arrests
and seized weapons showed "attempts to recruit individuals in Jordan on
behalf of [Hamas] to bring recruits from the Palestinian territories to
send them to Syria and Iran for training".

Hamas 'displeased'

However, Hamas said the confessions were false. Sami Abu Zuhri,
a spokesman, said in an interview broadcast by Aljazeera:
"These are all security fabrications which are easy to implement.
This is why we reject not only the accusations but such baseless lies
that the security apparatus could easily engineer.
"How can we target a bus loaded with Jordanian citizens, as noted by
the TV, while we did not target a single Israeli outside Palestinian
territories. We should rather target a Jew or an Israeli instead of
targeting our brothers from the Arab and Islamic nations.
This is a lie that could never deceive anybody."

Jordan said last month that it had found weapons and explosives smuggled
into the country from Syria by Hamas members.

Hamas denied the allegations and a visit by Mahmoud al-Zahar, the new
Palestinian foreign minister and senior Hamas leader, was scrapped.

On Wednesday, Jordanian authorities briefed five Palestinian security
officials, led by Major-General Tareq Abu Rajab, chief of Palestinian
General Intelligence, of the evidence against the Hamas members.

The team was sent by Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian president,
not the Hamas government.

A leader of Jordan's largest opposition party, the Muslim Brotherhood,
denounced Amman's decision.
Jamil Abu Bakr accused the kingdom of having caved in to "American and
Zionist pressures on Arabs to isolate the Palestinian Hamas-led
government".
But challenged by reporters on a visit to Saudi Arabia, he said:
"Hamas does not stash weapons in any Arab country."

Arab banks' boycott

Amman's accusations of arms smuggling came less than two weeks after
the Jordan-based Arab Bank stopped all financial dealings with
the Palestinian government, Palestinian banking officials said.

instructed to forbid their clients from making inter-branch transactions

The measures angered the Palestinian government,with one official at
